The study's authors conducted a reanalysis of their work, rematching the cohorts by including platelet count at the time of growth factor administration. They report that upon this reanalysis, both cohorts displayed similar survival, and thus the conclusions differed substantially and meaningfully from those stated in the abstract.To avoid any patient safety issues arising from this incorrect conclusion, the authors request retraction.
